You scan the room and see a plastic bag, NEW YORK CITY, glares back in a psychotic font. You are here, it reminds you. Be here now, you say to yourself as you exit the subway. Each evening is like a patch you wear on your letterman jacket from hell. That big red apple. That cockroach with a hundred legs. That nightlife poem. It is all proof. Proof that the room was skunked with smoke. Proof that your shoulder bumped against the fluorescently lit wall. Proof that you were in fact here.

There are ten thousand ways of eulogizing a place. There are four thousand streets in BERLIN. We won’t work, you mumble as your hand thumbs the skeleton keys in your pockets. Watch my back, you say to the woman swaying up Kotbusser Damm. And as you push open the door to the packed bar, a shutter slips down your spine. Disrupt, the tech bro whispers to the waitress. We are all in this together, you pray as the nights grow only darker.

In PARIS it is all theater; a presentation of facts washed in soft light. You are not a tourist. You will not be holding that bundle of red balloons at the Eiffel Tower, because you know that Paris will skin you. Paris is the capital of Trance. You live here. You soak in your tub. You hate the police. You walk outside. And as you turn the corner, the air bloated with fog, you check your phone to remind yourself; you are just a blue dot, moving through an ancient city.

LIVING GARMENT is a new product line that merges fashion, art, and merchandise to deliver garments that expand ecological consciousness.

LIVING GARMENT is launched by curator Adriana Blidaru and fashion designer Nhu Duong as an offshoot of the curatorial platform Living Content. The long-term goal shared by the founders is to provide their global community of artists and cultural producers with a vehicle to make and distribute objects beyond art.

The first product drop is made with CIRCULOSE®, a new recycled cotton fiber made entirely from textile waste manufactured by Renewcell in Sweden. The recycling process is run on renewable energy to be as gentle as possible. This collaboration enables LIVING GARMENT to change the fabric from the inside and close the product’s lifecycle.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Shipibo Conibo Center, a nonprofit that promotes and perpetuates the creative life-ways of the Shipibo-Konibo People of the Peruvian Amazon.

LIVING GARMENT is awarded by the WORTH II Partnership Projects, funded by the COSME Programme of the European Union.
