This inaugural edition of the Living Content Biennial marks the beginning of an experiment in creating unique cultural events that highlight special natural locations both in Romania and around the world.
“EARTHCAKE” brings together nine international artists whose multimedia works engage in a dialogue with the Vâlcele-Slatinele salt massif. Together, the works present a poetic narrative inspired by the salt mine's microclimate, exploring themes of extraction, destruction, creation, and regeneration, while traversing both material and spiritual realms.
Participating Artists: Adrian Ganea, Bogdana Dima, Geta Brătescu (in collaboration with Alexandru Solomon), Jenna Sutela, Katja Novitskova, Lito Kattou, Mark Leckey, Nona Inescu, Rachel Rossin.
